Synopsis: Spock is dead. The Enterprise is returning to Star Base after battling Khan over the genesis machine. But it soon becomes evident that although Spock's body is gone, his spirit lives in McCoy's mind. The officers of the Enterprise join to steal the ship and take it back to Genesis to find Spock. They do find him but loose the Enterprise for it.

Review: There's not much to say about this book. It is based on the movie which was exciting in the first half but tedious in the second. The novel starts about 70 pages before the movie and contains scenes not in the movie. Most of these scenes would have fit in very well although some would not be appropriate. The novel is well written.
