Synopsis: Multi-billionaire Oscar Schoenberg is a man of action. With his private starship and five companions, Schoenberg takes a hunting trip to Hunter's world. Once there, the group witnesses the tournament. In a series of life and death duels, 63 of the toughest warriors will die so that one may sit at the side of the god Thorun. In actuality there is no glory to the tournament. It is a ruse by a Berserker brain to lure a starship to Hunter's world which it can use to destroy all the human life on the planet.

Review: "Berserker's Planet" is a mediocre science fiction with no plot. Most of the novel is simply a mechanism to detail a couple of dozen fights to the death. At first these were interesting but it soon became too repetitious. In the end, one warrior vanquishes all the rest and reaches the city on the mountain, only to find he is not welcome. By beating a mechanical superman, and by being in the right place at the right time, he becomes ruler of the world. While this last part was somewhat interesting, the rest of the book just wasn't worth it.
